Industrial Electrical Technology
Download Program OverviewThe Industrial Electrical Technology program prepares the graduate to service and repair industrial electrical and electronic machines and systems. Students will work with a wide variety of modern industrial machines and controls, learning to install and maintain this type of equipment. Graduates are prepared to work in many manufacturing and industrial facilities with modern electrical and electronic systems. Many of the courses can also be transferred to technology programs at some four-year institutions. Graduates from apprentice programs at Caterpillar Inc. or other apprentice programs may be able to transfer credits to this program. Maintenance Mechanic Technology
Download Program OverviewMaintenance Mechanic Technology is a program designed to develop a strong foundation in mechanical systems commonly found in both manufacturing and process industries. The program also includes mathematics and physical science for understanding basic manufacturing related technologies. This curriculum prepares graduates for employment or advancement in industrial skilled trades careers including millwright, machine repair, and maintenance mechanic. With industrial experience, careers may also be pursued in plant engineering, maintenance supervision, and manufacturing engineering. Many courses in the program are transferable to a four-year school and should be articulated by the student with the particular college or university. It is also possible to articulate the program requirements with certain approved apprentice programs including Caterpillar Inc. Students wishing to meet the requirements for Caterpillar´s apprentice programs should contact departmental offices. Likewise, the apprentice graduate should contact the Department Chair to determine the articulation of courses.

Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance
Download Program OverviewThe mechanical/electrical maintenance person is employed to support manufacturing or large building complexes. They are asked to accomplish a variety of tasks depending on the day-to-day needs of their employer. A person interested in pursuing education and employment in this area should have high mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. This program is intended for the individual who wishes to upgrade skills or prepare for a career as a maintenance mechanic or industrial electrician. Each individual has the opportunity to select areas of concentration. All courses on the optional course list are resident in either the Industrial Electrical or the Maintenance Mechanic Technology Programs. Students wishing to pursue an Associate Degree should discuss this desire with their advisor to ensure no loss of credit.

Electronics Repair
Download Program OverviewThe Electronics Repair certificate prepares individuals to enter employment as beginning electronics repairmen in industrial plants, the electronic communication media, or consumer electronics businesses. Further specialization, through on-the-job training and/or supplementary courses at the College, will usually be necessary after the graduate enters employment. Apprentices from Caterpillar, Inc. may be able to transfer credit to this program. Further information may be obtained from the department office. This certificate program represents the first year of the Electronics Technology program, plus ELCTK 117, which may be taken during the summer.

Electronics Servicing
Download Program OverviewThe Electronics Servicing curriculum prepares individuals for entry-level employment in the servicing functions of consumer electronics. The applicant for admission to this curriculum should have a marked interest in electronic servicing. The curriculum is very practical and utilizes the basic radio and television receiver as a vehicle of learning. This sequence of eleven courses and an elective is scheduled so the student may complete the program in six semesters. The first course in the sequence is scheduled for the fall semester. The elective credit may be drawn from a wide range of offerings having a bearing on electronics, and should be selected with the help of an advisor. This program assumes no prior knowledge of electricity or electronics.
